Is Peptora free?
Yes. The web app at app.peptora.app is free to use, with no account and no payment.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts. Everything you save — vials, reminders, dose logs, custom stacks — is stored locally on your device.
Is this medical advice?
No. Peptora is for educational use only. Many peptides discussed are research compounds not approved by the FDA. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting, changing, or stopping any protocol.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser's local database (IndexedDB) on your own device. Nothing is uploaded — there is no cloud and no server holding your data.
How do I move my data to a new device? Is there a backup?
Right now there isn't one — data is local-only and does not transfer between devices or browsers. An export/backup feature is on the wish list; you can upvote it via the feature request form.
My data disappeared. What happened?
The most common causes: browser data (site data/cookies) was cleared, the app was uninstalled, or you're opening a different browser or profile than the one you saved in. Because data is stored locally per browser, each of those looks like a fresh install.
The app shows an old version after an update. How do I refresh it?
Close every open tab of app.peptora.app (or fully close the installed app), then reopen it. The app caches itself for offline use, and the new version activates once all old tabs are closed. A forced reload (Ctrl+Shift+R) also works in the browser.
Push notifications aren't working. What should I check?
1) Settings → Notifications must be enabled inside the app. 2) Your browser or phone must allow notifications for the app (not set to Denied). 3) On iPhone/iPad, the app must be installed to the Home Screen first — Safari tabs can't receive push. 4) Reminders show a 'pending push' badge until notifications are enabled.
Should I use the browser, the installed app (PWA), or the Android APK?
They're the same app. Installing (PWA or APK) gives you an icon, full-screen mode, and more reliable notifications. If you just want to look something up, the browser is fine — but note each browser/device keeps its own separate data.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the first load, the app works offline — the peptide library, calculator, and your saved data are all available. The News feed needs a connection to fetch new articles.
Why does the calculator show units instead of ml?
Doses are drawn with insulin syringes, which are marked in units (U-100: 100 units = 1 ml). The calculator converts your dose into units to draw so you can read it straight off the syringe barrel. The ml equivalent is shown alongside.
Which syringe size should I pick?
The one you actually have: 0.3 ml (30 units), 0.5 ml (50 units), or 1.0 ml (100 units). Smaller barrels are easier to read for small doses. If your dose needs more units than the syringe holds, the calculator warns you — use a bigger syringe or adjust the reconstitution.
